Khavinson et al. (2011) examined Pinealon in cerebellar granule cells, neutrophils, and PC12 (pheochromocytoma) cells subjected to oxidative stress. The study reported concentration-dependent changes in reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and necrotic cell counts as measured by propidium iodide staining. Pinealon was also associated with a delayed time course of ERK 1/2 activation and modification of the cell cycle in these in vitro models [1].
