BPC 157 20 MG
BPC 157 peptide: a 20 mg research vial
BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide: a short chain of 15 amino acids (Gly-Glu-Pro-Pro-Pro-Gly-Lys-Pro-Ala-Asp-Asp-Ala-Gly-Leu-Val). Its sequence was taken from body protection compound, a larger protein first described in human gastric juice. This BPC 157 peptide vial holds 20 mg and sits in our lyophilized peptide category. It has twice the material of BPC 157 10 MG, for labs that run longer series from one lot.
How BPC 157 has been studied
Most BPC-157 work comes from one research group in Zagreb and from rat models. Reviews by Sikiric, Seiwerth and colleagues describe the peptide as acting on blood vessel growth, nitric oxide signaling and the lining of the gut [1], [2]. Its stability in gastric juice is one reason it has been studied by mouth as well as by injection in animals. How it works at the receptor level still isn’t known.
BPC 157 and tissue repair in rat models
Tissue repair is where most of the data sit.
Skin. Huang et al. (2015) studied alkali burns on rat skin. BPC-157 sped wound closure, and in cell culture it increased the growth and migration of skin cells and the formation of blood vessel tubes [3].
Tendon. In rat tendon fibroblasts, BPC-157 increased cell spreading, survival under stress and migration, with higher F-actin formation [4].
Muscle. Rat studies of crushed or transected muscle report better functional and structural healing in treated animals [2].
Gut. In rats with induced colitis and bowel ischemia, BPC-157 reduced lesion size and helped restore blood flow through collateral vessels [5].
These findings support continued work in animal models. They don’t show what BPC-157 does in people, and there is no human data on symptoms, healing time or safety for this product.
Where it fits among research peptides
BPC-157 is often studied next to other research peptides. It is paired with TB-500 in the Wolverine stack, combined with GHK-Cu and TB-500 in GLOW 70MG, and listed as BPC-157 500 mcg capsules for oral research. Gut-focused labs often compare it with KPV.
Regulatory status
BPC-157 is not FDA approved and is not a medication. It isn’t sold here as a pharmacy or compounding product, and its compounding status is a separate question for licensed pharmacies. No controlled human trials have tested it for any condition, and no studies have tested doses in people. This product is for laboratory research only.
What is still unknown
Rat results haven’t been repeated in controlled human trials. Doses, routes and timing vary widely across animal studies, and per-kilogram animal doses don’t scale to people. Most published work comes from a single research group, so independent replication is limited. Long-term effects and the impact of impurities in poorly made products are open questions.
Quality testing and storage
Certified Peptides manufactures in a cGMP facility in Texas. Every batch is tested by an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited US lab for purity (HPLC), quantity, identity (LC-MS), endotoxins, heavy metals and sterility. When you shop BPC 157 online with us, the QR code on each vial is a link to that lot’s report in the COA Library. Orders placed before 3 PM ET ship the same or next business day. Keep vials sealed, cold and away from light, and see Lab Testing for the full panel.
Which signaling pathways have been linked to BPC-157?
Cell and rat studies point to a few pathways. In endothelial cells, BPC-157 activated VEGFR2 and downstream Akt and eNOS, which drive new blood vessel growth [10]. In tendon fibroblasts it raised FAK and paxillin activity tied to cell migration [4], and it increased growth hormone receptor numbers on the cells [7].
Why does so much BPC-157 research come from one group?
Most of the literature comes from a group at the University of Zagreb that has studied the peptide since the early 1990s [1], [2]. Independent labs, mainly in Taiwan, have reproduced some of the cell and tendon work [4], [7], [10]. Limited independent replication is still one of the main gaps in the field.
What animal models have been used to study BPC-157?
Published rat models include cut tendons and ligaments, crushed muscle, alkali skin burns, induced colitis and bowel ischemia, and drug-induced stomach, liver and brain lesions [2], [3], [5], [6]. Mice and dogs appear less often, mostly in pharmacokinetic work [8]. Doses, routes and timing vary from study to study, so check each paper’s methods before comparing results.
Is BPC-157 stable in gastric juice?
It is described as stable in human gastric juice, which is unusual for a peptide and fits its origin in a stomach protein [1]. Rat studies have given it in drinking water as well as by injection, with activity reported both ways. Oral bioavailability in people is unknown; for oral research formats, see BPC-157 500 mcg capsules.
Has BPC-157 been tested in people?
Barely. An early development program under the code PL 14736 targeted inflammatory bowel disease, but its results were never fully published, and later reports are small and uncontrolled, such as a 2024 pilot in 12 women with interstitial cystitis [9]. No controlled human trial has been completed.
